My reading goal this year was 52 books, and I completed my 52nd book the other night (leaving me about 10 days to spare!). I actually didn’t even realize it was my 52nd book until I went in to update the list that I have been keeping. I’m not sure that I didn’t leave anything off accidentally, but it’s pretty close. I’m all set to start on a new stack of books for 2011, but could use more recommendations. Please leave a comment if you have any! You can see the books I have read in the last couple of years on my What I Am Reading page.

What did you think of Twenties Girl? I literally could not keep it open-I felt like I’d already read it halfway through.

It was one of those “pass the time” books. Not something that really kept me totally engaged but I didn’t have anything else on my shelf that I really wanted to read at the time. The genre in general is one that I neither love nor won’t read at all–just somewhere in the middle.

Love the list especially Percy Jackson, those are fantastically fun books, love them more than HP. I also like the new series the Lost Hero, really good. The 52 book thing is a great idea. I might try that this year.

Drew- Thanks for the reminder on the new Lost Hero series. I need to get that first book ordered! Next year I am going to slip in a few more “classics” that I didn’t manage to read in school (or that I was supposed to read and only watched the movies of!).

I just started reading the “Fever” series by Karen Marie Moning, while I’m on the waitlist at the library for Vampire Academy. These are good so far. I have also read her “Highlander” series which I enjoyed.
The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich is excellent. Earlier this year I read the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon which was very good too.
Tricia says
Amy- I’ve had a couple of people mention the Stephanie Plum series. It is definitely going on my list for next year. I will have to check out “Fever.” Vampire Academy was one of my favorite series ever!
Kim Rowley says
I just finished “Fiona Range” by Mary McGarry Morris that was a bargain book I had that I thought was pretty good. I can bring it to Vegas with me if you’d like it?
Tricia says
That would be terrific, Kim! I have not heard of that one. thank you. 🙂
